This is a 2-arm, randomized, open-label, multicenter, global, Phase 3 trial to evaluate the efficacy, safety, and tolerability of tovorafenib monotherapy versus standard of care (SoC) chemotherapy in patients with pediatric low-grade glioma (LGG) harboring an activating rapidly accelerated fibrosarcoma (RAF) alteration requiring front-line systemic therapy.
The goal of this interventional clinical trial is to provide proof-of-principle data for the biologic activity of defactinib in combination with avutometinib in brain metastases from melanoma, and to define the potential role of the combination with mutant BRAF inhibitors or after BRAF/MEK inhibitors in BRAF V600E/K mutant tumors, in individuals with advanced melanoma who experience the development or progression of brain metastases after treatment with immune checkpoint inhibitors. The main questions it aims to answer are: - What is the preliminary response rate of defactinib and avutometinib in patients with RAS...
This study will consist of a Phase 1b and Phase 2 portion. The Phase 1b portion will enroll first followed by the Phase 2 portion. Each cycle of treatment = 28 days. Subjects will receive alectinib twice daily. Those in the Phase 1b portion will receive alectinib alone. Those in Phase 2 Arm A will receive alectinib alone. Those in Phase 2, Arm B will receive SRS + alectinib. A maximum of 25 cycles (2 years) of alectinib may be administered on study.
This phase IIa trial studies how well dendritic cell vaccines against Her2/Her3 and pembrolizumab work for the treatment of triple negative breast cancer or HER2+ breast cancer that has spread to the brain (brain metastasis). Dendritic cell vaccines work by boosting the immune system (a system in the body that protect against infection) to recognize and destroy the cancer cells. . Pembrolizumab is an "immune checkpoint inhibitor" which is designed to either "unleash" or "enhance" the cancer immune responses that already exist by either blocking inhibitory molecules" or by activating stimulatory molecules. Giving dendritic cell ...
Resting tremors associated with Parkinson's disease (PD) remains difficult to quantify and track during disease progression. This study propose to explore the rhythmicity of distal muscle contractions in the upper limb to characterize resting tremor and discriminate it from cerebellar tremor (CT) based on the frequency spectrum of the EMG signal.
About 20 to 30% of patients treated for cancer will have brain metastases. These brain metastases are found more frequently in patients with lung cancer, breast cancer or melanoma. The prognosis of these patients is unfavorable but prolonged survival can be obtained with the local and systemic treatments currently available. Brain MRI is the gold standard for evaluating brain metastases but has limitations in therapeutic evaluation, partially offset by PET imaging of amino acid metabolism. Our work aims to compare the performance of PET-DOPA with standard MRI for the detection of brain metastases (≥ 5mm) in lung cancer, breast...
Plastic particles are a ubiquitous pollutant in the living environment and food chain, so far, plenty of studies have reported the internal exposure of microplastics and nanoplastics in human tissues and enclosed body fluids. Neurosurgery is the only department that can open the skull. In addition to blood and cerebrospinal fluid, there are brain tissue and tumors in the presence of lesions. Whether any of these microplastics and nanoplastics are present remains a mystery. This prospective observational study will harvest biological samples of neurosurgery patients. The objective of this research is to be able to detect...
This clinical trial is looking at a drug called entrectinib. Entrectinib is approved as standard of care treatment for adult patients with non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) which have a particular molecular alteration called ROS1-positive, and patients 12 years of age or older with solid tumours which have another type of change in the cancer cells. This means it has gone through clinical trials and been approved by the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) in the UK. Investigators now wish to find out if it will be useful in treating patients with other cancer types which have the same molecular alteration...
The purpose of this study is to develop and test a new magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) technique to see if it can be used to tell the difference between tumor growth from worsening of cancer and growth from the effects of treatment in participants who have brain tumors treated with radiation therapy called stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS).
This research study is evaluating the investigational software for magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) systems and techniques to process magnetic resonance (MR) images
