Somatic mosaicism in cancer associated genes is one potential explanation for discordance in childhood cancer that has not been fully explored to date. This pilot study will focus on twins with central nervous system (CNS) tumors who are identified through the Children's Oncology Group's Project: EveryChild (PEC) registry or volunteer.
The objective of this clinical investigation is to assess the safety and performance of the SonoClear Acoustic Coupling Fluid (ACF). The performance will be assessed by analysis of the contrast-to-noise ratio (CNR) and assessment of image quality by using the Surgeon Image Rating (SIR) Scale. This is a prospective, multi-centre single-arm study where the performance of SonoClear ACF relative to routinely used acoustic coupling fluid is investigated by each patient being their own control. Patients with the diagnosis of HGG and LGG at up to 10 sites will be included. Additionally, safety data are collected at 30 days and 6 months...
Objective of the study is to determine possibilities of intraoperative sonography in detecting of various brain mass lesions, assessing extent of their resection and define indications to use ultrasound-guided needle or ultrasound wire-guided port.
This trial studies how well spectroscopic magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) guided proton therapy works in assessing metabolic change in pediatric patients with brain tumors. The non-invasive imaging, such as spectroscopic MRI may help to map the differences in tumor metabolism compared to healthy tissue without injection of any contrast agent.
Despite the impressive response rate to third-generation EGFR-TKIs, resistance inevitably develops in most patients. Stereotactic radiotherapy plays a growing role in the management of patients with brain metastasis. This study aims to evaluate the efficacy and safety of stereotactic radiotherapy for oligo-residual intracranial disease after first-line third-generation EGFR Inhibitors.
This phase II trial studies the clinical outcomes of hypofractionated radiation therapy in patients with diffuse midline gliomas. This study aims to change the way radiation is delivered, from giving 6 weeks of radiation all at once to giving 2 weeks of radiation. This may determine if there is a difference in the outcome of the treatment, and most importantly, the patients' quality of life.
The purpose of this study is to determine whether AGuIX (Activation and Guidance of Irradiation by X-ray) gadolinium-based nanoparticles make radiation work more effectively in the treatment of patients with brain metastases that are more difficult to control with stereotactic radiation alone.
This is a single arm study of abemaciclib and endocrine therapy with stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS) among patients with hormone receptor (HR)+/HER2- metastatic breast cancer brain metastases.
This phase I trial finds out the side effects and possible benefits of stereotactic radiosurgery and immune checkpoint inhibitors with NovoTTF-100M for the treating of melanoma that has spread to the brain (brain metastases). Stereotactic radiosurgery is a type of external radiation therapy that uses special equipment to position the patient and precisely give a single large dose of radiation to a tumor. It is used to treat brain tumors and other brain disorders that cannot be treated by regular surgery. Immunotherapy with monoclonal antibodies, such as pembrolizumab, nivolumab and ipilimumab, may help the body's immune system attack...
This phase II trial studies the effect of stereotactic radiosurgery and pembrolizumab in treating patients with meningioma that has come back (recurrent). Stereotactic radiosurgery is a type of external radiation therapy that uses special equipment to position the patient and precisely give a single large dose of radiation to a tumor. It is used to treat brain tumors and other brain disorders that cannot be treated by regular surgery. Pembrolizumab is a humanized monoclonal antibody. An antibody is a common type of protein made in the body in response to a foreign substance. Antibodies attack foreign substances and protect against ...
