The present study aims to investigate the potential application of multispectral analysis, hyperspectral imaging, and fluorescence during neuro-oncological procedures, specifically during brain tumour debulking / resection. These optics techniques are entirely non-invasive and consist in camera with a filter to be linked to the standard microsurgical and endoscopic instruments used in theatre. The research procedure consists of images acquisition and data processing, with virtually no additional invasive procedures to be performed on patients.
By employing a combination of advanced MRI techniques and correlative serum biomarkers of blood brain barrier (BBB) disruption, the investigators plan to develop a powerful, first of its kind clinical algorithm in pediatrics whereby the investigators can measure and identify the window of maximal BBB disruption post MLA to 1) allow for an alternative to surgery in incompletely resected tumors, 2) allow for optimal chemotherapeutic dosing to achieve the greatest benefits and the least systemic side effects and 3) distinguish subsequent tumor progression from long-term MLA treatment effects. Preliminary data in adult imaging studies ...
This study is a single-arm, multicenter, open-labeled clinical study of UTD1 combined with Capecitabine in metastatic HER2-negative breast cancaner patients with brain metastases. This study aims to evaluate the efficacy and safety of UDT1 combined with capecitabine in metastatic HER2-negative breast cancer patients with brain metastases.
This study aims to investigate the efficacy and safety of utidelone in combination with bevacizumab in the treatment of advanced breast cancer with brain metastases, and thus provides a new systemic treatment strategy for those patients.
This study investigates the pre-clinical nano-based analgesics in cells from human dorsal root ganglia (clusters of neurons). Collecting these neurons may help future research related to safe and effective pain treatment.
A glioma is a primary brain tumor in adults that is characterized by a highly variable, but overall poor survival. The optimal timing of treatment is in part determined by the expected biological behavior of the tumor. At present the expected biological behavior, determined by the tumor genotype, can only be determined by tissue analysis, which requires brain surgery. Non-invasive and improved diagnostic methods are sought to obtain insight into the molecular profile of the tumor and the expected biological behavior to avoid surgery performed solely for diagnostic purposes. Vascularization is an important aspect of the biological behavior...
This phase II trial studies how well vismodegib, focal adhesion kinase (FAK) inhibitor GSK2256098, and capivasertib work in treating patients with meningioma that is growing, spreading, or getting worse (progressive). Vismodegib, FAK inhibitor GSK2256098, capivasertib, and abemaciclib may stop the growth of tumor cells by blocking some of the enzymes needed for cell growth.
This phase I trial studies the side effects and best dose of volitinib in treating patients with primary central nervous system (CNS) tumors that have come back (recurrent) or does not respond to treatment (refractory). Volitinib may stop the growth of tumor cells by blocking some of the enzymes needed for cell growth.
This study aims to evaluate the safety and efficacy of hippocampal-sparing WBRT combined with SRS as first-line treatment for SCLC patients with brain metastases.
This research study is for Glioblastoma (GBM) patients who will be beginning Optune as part of their clinical care, which is a novel treatment that utilizes - tumor treating fields (TTFields), (aka, electrical therapy), which has shown to improve overall survival in large multi-center trials. As a part of this study, participants will either receive Optune with "standard array mapping" (based on regular contrast enhanced MRI) or an "alternative (more precise) array mapping" based on sophisticated state of the art MRI techniques including "whole brain spectroscopy". Whole brain MRI spectroscopy provides additional metabolic ...
